Littlest Warrior Dash
THANK YOU for all of your support! We had several families that were able to come out and cheer us on. The kids did a GREAT job moving the whole time! They definitely fulfilled their promise of doing the hard work! Because of the many requests to keep the pledge deadline open, we have extended it until NEXT Friday. So...if you have someone that you missed...get their pledge money and send it in anytime before Friday October 12. The classroom with the most donations will win a classroom prize and the STUDENT with the most donations will also win a prize!! Go Pineapples!!!

A little Homework Binder clarification...
**read a book (any book) each night and record it in the reading log. The letter A book is there for you to use as well.
**Ordering sentences...choose any familiar sentence from a story you have been reading during the week and write it out for your child. Then cut it apart into a sentence puzzle of sorts. Your child glues it back together in the correct order and then practices their writing by copying the sentence below their pasted words. Try this activity at least two times each week.
**There are four pages in protectors...those are to practice with the dry erase markers as often as you like.
**Return the folders to school with their Friday folder things on Mondays. The practice pages and the book will be changed out for new materials and off you go again!

Littlest Warrior Dash is October 1. We will be running the track from 9:15-9:45am. You are welcome and encouraged to come and cheer us on. The dash is a healthy fundraiser that doesn't require any product pick up! All your child has to do is gather pledges and return the pledge sheet and money to school by October 3rd. We will have a table available at open house if you would like to bring your donation during that time. We will also have a link so even out of town family and friends can help us meet our goal. We are working to make money for a Raz Kids subscription for our classroom. Raz Kids is a leveled text app that students can use on their iPads! We are very excited about it! Thanks in advance for your help!

Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey , the world's leading questionnaire tool. |
Please take a moment to complete our parent survey about kindergarten orientation found on the left. Since it was the first year we have ever done that, we would love to hear your feedback! Thank you for your help. We appreciate your thoughtful comments and suggestions.

A couple FREE apps to download that you might find helpful this year.
Both apps are available in iTunes and Google Play app store. |
First is a QR reader. If you don't have a reader already, this one is free and easy to use. You will be able to participate in our school wide scavenger hunt digitally if you have a reader!
|
The second one is Remind (formally Remind101 if you have older students you might know this app already). This app is a one way texting app. It allows me to send out reminder messages to all of my parents/guardians quickly and easily. There are some new features that allow you to stamp a "star" on something you like or "check" something you can help with. You can also stamp a message with a "question mark" if you are unclear and even stamp a "no". I am hoping it will be very helpful though we will see!! :) Thanks for participating with me!

Water Bottles...I would like to encourage students to bring a water bottle to school each day. We get one milk at lunch each day and I am finding that is not always enough to drink. Even if you have an empty bottle with a top of some kind, we can fill them at school. Students have access to the drinking fountain during the day when I am not teaching. The need is not for during the day the need is for lunch, especially since lunch follows our only recess of the day. I am noticing that students are thirstier than one milk will quench. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me!
Extra Clothes....
Each student should have an extra set of clothes in their backpack at all times. There are many times during the day, especially early in the year, that we may need those extra clothes. When we spill at lunch or if we don't make it to the restroom on time. As we are learning the procedures and training our bodies, the thought of extra clothes in our backpacks is quite reassuring. Thank you!
